PS4 Controller/Mac
I was trying to set this up with my PS4 controller on my Macbook Pro. I'm having a problem with conjuring boxes and can't figure out how to make it work. Anyone else have any luck with this?

I know it's an old game, and I might have to just use the keyboard and mouse, but if there's a way to make it work, since I play better with controller, why not. XD.

Mac and PS4 syncing does not always operate accordingly, but when it does, it is enjoyable to play. I'm not sure how you connected – Bluetooth, cable – the control to your Mac, but I would recommend using the cable version. The connection for me has been more stable and has not brought me any problems with the buttons. And also, when Steam does offer a full DS4 support, there should not be any need for tweaks. But because you are having some connection problems, I first recommend you to check the connection between them, or just resetting it and doing it again from the ground up.

Follow these steps for the cable connection:
- Use a Micro-USB cable to connect the PS4 controller to your Mac.
- Press the PlayStation button in the middle of the gamepad (to turn it on).
- Choose Apple -> About this Mac.
- Click System Report.
- Choose USB.
- Look for Wireless Controller under USB.

If you can see Wireless Controller (it's called "wireless" even though it's connected via a cable), then your PS4 controller is connected to the Mac. Now go to the game and try again.

Also, please note that because we do not update drivers anymore and they were originally developed for the 360 gamepad, we can't unfortunately guarantee a perfect 'match'.

I hope this helps, and please get back to me on what happens. 😊

Hi, thanks for the help. :)

I always use the cable because wireless can be a bit unpredictable with mac hehe.

It does connect fine and I can jump, shoot and do other things. The movement is so awesome with the controller, actually. I was like "woah, this is much cooler." Little bit of a learning curve there since need to rebind some keys for certain functions.

It's actually a specific issue with the Wizard. You know how you have to click and drag the mouse to draw a box? Well, not having any luck with this with the controller. The pointer appears and stays stuck to the top of the screen.

Are you having trouble with the controller configuration menu? I seem to recall that one problem on Mac (and Linux) was that certain axises (e.g. trigger buttons) registered in fully turned position, which prevented configuration menu to work. Basically you had to edit the binding files by hand.

That wasn't the only problem, though, so not sure if it is in this case.

Yes, I think that might very well be the issue. Some functions like basic movements were pre-set but I had to rebind some buttons to do some of the other tasks. It's just when it comes to the Wizard and his special stuff, I'm totally lost. I do have the other Trine games as well, but haven't downloaded them yet to see what that's like.

If it comes down to it, I will play them with the keyboard. Being a former console gamer, there's nothing like playing with a controller though. :)
