Trouble Starting Trine Enchanted
I am having some trouble launching the Enchanted version. I have no trouble running the original version, provided that I don't use fullscreen, but the enhanced version won't start at all.
I click start on the launcher, I get a cursor wheel for a bit, then nothing. Steam says its running, and the process is in Task Manager, but no window pops up at all.
The only way to shut it down is via Task Manager, where it says it is consuming about 125-130 MB of memory and CPU usage is at 0%. I get the same results if I run the .exe file directly. I tried verifying the files, and Steam retrieved some stuff, but I get the same results.

Also, I get a notification that says the Trine process is using my microphone.

My System, in case it helps:

Windows 10 Pro
CPU: Ryzen 5 1500X
GPU: RX 580 8 GB running Adrenaline 20.4.1 (very unstable and unusable control window, I might add)
Memory: 16GB
and a 75hz monitor running at 60hz.

Again, the original versionstarts fine and seems to run fine from the first few minutes of the game, so its not like this is completely broken.

Thank you ahead of time.

Sorry to hear you're having problems with our game. Sounds odd that the verification and running the .exe didn't help, but there are couple of other things you can still try.

First, let's try resetting the game's settings manually. Go to %appdata%/Trine1 (you can just write that in the Windows Explorer to find the folder). There should be a file called options.txt in the folder, delete it. This has often helped with similar issues.

You can also manually change the game's launch options on Steam. Right click Trine in your Steam library, then go to Properties > Set Launch Options. Then write copy-paste this in the text field (including the minus sign):
-disableMinidump
This will disable the game's minidump, which often helps with launch issues. If it doesn't work then go back to Set Launch Options and undo the changes.

Try also different settings in the game's launcher, if you haven't already. Change the refresh rate from Automatic to 60hz. Disable Vsync and turn off anti-aliasing. You can also test if the game launches if you lower the resolution and run the game in a window instead.

I also recommend checking that an antivirus or a firewall isn't blocking Trine for some reason. Easiest way to do this is to add Trine to your security programs' exceptions.

If none of these helped, you can try changing 3D settings in the launcher, even if you're not using 3D. This is a solution from another player who had the same problem a few years ago:

Go to the installation folder and run trinelauncher.exe as Run as Administrator. Then, change Stereoscopic 3D mode "Automatic NVidia 3D Vision /iZ3D / None" to "AMD HD3D". Which seems strange to me because I have Nvidia GTX550 Ti. After this I can start it even with "Automatic Nvidia...." selected for "Stereoscopic 3D mode". It seems like this option just turned it on somehow.

Let me know if these didn't help and the problem still persists. Sorry for the trouble this is causing you!

Disabling the minidump seemed to work for me. While I haven't played past the menus, it seems to work.

Good to hear it helped! If any problems occur again just let me know and I'll do my best to help you. :)
