You could install an emulator to make your system to recognize your controller as an Xbox Controller. I’m recommending this as they should work much better.
Also other options are trying to map your PlayStation 4 controller from the menu in-game, here is an image[www.frozenbyte.com] that might help with that. The picture is for Trine 2, but most of the skills are the same, so hopefully that will do.
Or alternatively you could try to manually map the controllers. If you think you can map them from .txt files, just let me know if you want to use Linux or Windows for that and I’ll tell you the location.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
I thought that the DualShock 4 controller was automatically compatible with any game since it is officially supported by steam. I thought steam would automatically provide Xbox controller emulation for non compatible games. But no problem.
On windows there is an emulator that mimics a Xbox controller, but I don´t know of any such tool for Linux that is where I intend to play.
This image is what I was missing for remapping my controller from the in-game menu, I will try it later, or maybe I just end up playing with an old Xbox360 controller.
And yeah you probably have much easier time with the Xbox 360 controller, so I recommend using that. Sorry again for the inconvenience, but let me know if you'd still like to ask something.
Cheers!
Unfortunatately I only have the same answer, that we don't support PlayStation 4 controllers, but if you specify your problem I might be able to help. Also note that I linked this image[www.frozenbyte.com] in case it can help with the mappings. The image is from Trine 2, but has a lot of same buttons.
Also sorry for the inconvenience, but let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
Are you able to play Trine with a DualSshock 4 on windows?
when the ps4 support is on the game sees two controllers 1. wireless 2. xbox compatible
changed my save slot to a new one and entered the game. at first the right analog stick wasn't working as intended (left/right was aim up/down and shoulder-buttons were aim left/rigth) and when I hit options-key/start it added a 2nd player.
went into the controller config and changed 1. wireless to custom config and deleted ALL bindings on that one, then did the same for 2. xbox and reassigned all axis and buttons.
make sure to open the save game settings and change player one to 2. xbox - mine was set to 1. wireless for player 1.
on 2nd launch I testet ps4 without steam controller support and it was working too after I reassigned all the buttons. but then the game will show Button 1, 2, 3 and axis1, 2, 3.
I had earlier already configured the ps4 controller to xbox360 controller in the settings via big picture mode (i use ds4). Now, after starting new game i pressed options on the controller to get the second player and then i just went to the settings in menu ->current game setup and removed the additional player that was showing up (for me it was the second player was the wireless controller and the first was the xbox360 controller) and the shooting and th grappling hook started working properly. Thanks for helping me out.
