This. If you're unfamiliar with Slender, OP, the game involves running around, collecting randomly-scattered notes and avoiding the titular tall, slender monster. It doesn't start appearing until you grab one or two notes, hence the message.

But does it actually do anything if you pick up the notes? Because when I got the message that some tall scary guy was going to show up I stopped picking up the notes. If you're telling me that the game was just messing with me and nothing bad would have happened if I got those notes I'm going to be very put off.

That's kinda a dumb reference to make, given that that fangame was kinda bad and not really representative of the actual works involving Slendy. On the other hand, it kind of kickstarted the "youtube jump scare horror game" thing that this game is half-parodying and half-playing straight.
