Spooky.exe UNEXPECTED ERROR HAS OCCURED.

So this is a problem that aparrently has been on the books for the year.

Tried running as Admin, tried the indieDB version, tried on multiple hard drives, and tried with Chrome closed.

How is this still happening in this game, and how have people gotten past this before?

I can't find any resolutions except, "Oh hey, it works now" ummm thanks but how?

Is there a troubleshooting section?

What do we do when we get this error?

Yeah, I get this too, it comes up with a loading bar/launcher that gets to about 90%, flickers, then that popup comes up on a black blank screen. Win 7 64-bit, tried as admin, tried after rebooting windows.

We aren't too sure why this issue keeps happening because we can't replicate it.

Sadly, using GameMaker 8 has these bugs that we can't quite fix.

I reached room 1000 on a previous playthrough in 2016 without encountering any errors, and that was after multiple saves and loads. Now I can't get the game to start at all and nothing significant has changed with my system

Well as an update, my HD 7870 died, so I put in an older HD 4870, and now it works, so I'm guessing it has something to do with either newer GPU's or the drivers?
I was using Crimson Relive 17.3.3 on the HD 7870, and now Catalyst Software Suite 13.9 with the HD 4870

wouldn't be the only game that doesn't function properly with crimson drivers
