am i dumb or smth?
you'll need the game installed (obviously), some sort of image editor for textures, and some form of sound editor for sounds (id recommend audacity)
find the spooky's folder
(mine is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Spooky's House of Jump Scares)
inside this folder is another folder called DATA, which, unsurprisingly, contains lots of the stuff used in the game
3D - contains the models used for 3D specimens, and their correspondent textures
EM - contains various extra textures only present in endless (i believe)
MAT - I'm not too sure about this one but it seems to hold textures used commonly throughout story mode, such as the door texture, and some door swatch
SND - contains the sounds for some of the cardboard jumpscares and the ambiences
TEX - this one holds the bulk of the textures used in the game, it has a few textures in the main folder (mostly base game room textures and spec 1) and a few sub-folders which contain more stuff
(within TEX)
menu - holds most of the textures used within the game opening, the main menu, endless mode, the cat-dos overlay, and specimen 4's death screen for some reason
mini - holds sprites used in the arcade minigames
mobile - seems to hold textures used for story mode specimens' introduction areas
rare - holds various sprites used only in less commonly generated rooms such as the bridge room, aswell as some stuff which doesn't occur as much (elevator sprites) and the taker room sprites for some reason
sprites - contains the bulk of the sprites related to the specimens, including specimen spritesheets, death screens, certain specimen environment specific stuff and whatnot
once you have modified any files to your liking, save over them in the data folder, same name, same file type, i think you can have higher-res textures but the game's default resolution makes it not much better
once you have saved the file, go in-game and test it, if all goes to plan you will have successfully modded spooky's jumpscare mansion
i am still new-ish to modding this game, there may be some elements of this guide that are wrong, but it should help with modding the game
TL;DR: find the game's data folder and save any edited stuff where they were in there
