ONE OF THE BEST GAME 2D Soulslike
This game is far superior to blasphemous/the last faith/salt and sacrifice/ghost song/there is no light etc

Really a masterpiece on par with salt and sanctuary/hollow night/tails of iron etc

I really love a paid expansion

I didn't like it at all, lol.

But I'm glad you did.

Why you didn't like it? you have some suggestion for similar game?

One thing was I hated how everything had a meter on it. A cool down timer, or like your shield breaking if you block too much, etc. Just really irritating when pushing the button does nothing.

Another thing was the completely nonsense story. It assumed you already knew who some characters were, which CAN work sometimes but just came across as weird to me here. Then there was the thing where, out of the blue, you get transported to the future to fight a boss for no reason. Then there was the thing where, out of the blue, you get transported to hell when you die and everything is stupidly overpowered and you can't escape by dying. Then there was the thing where, out of the blue, you get transported to the past instead of the future.

A third thing was they nixed the giant boss, when that was actually the main reason I was interested in the game at all.

I guess the only other game with a souls like tag on it that I've played was Hollow Knight. Fantastic game but doesn't really have much in common with this one.

I agree, but come on, tails of iron is not an outstanding souls like. It's extremely repetetive and flat. But of course, it's a good game.

You should check out Dark Devotion. It's a doubled down 2d soulslike, where the combat and movement of your character is extremely tight designed so you have to really think about what you do. It has some rogue like elements I'm not a fan of, but the boss fights, oh my, some of those rival the best of Fromsoft's work (if they'd made 2d soulslikes, of course).

In Tails of Iron there are an absence of NG+ and that's is too bad for me

The quests are also very repetetive and are an obvious illusion of choice. You pretty much have to do 'em all to progress.

The skill tree is a bit lackluster but it's a pretty decent Metroidvania.

I feel like its too much like Elden Ring, I literally installed the game in my Steam Deck to play a Metroidvania in between while I'm playing Elden Ring and to my surprise thisngame had everything the same.

I mean if I want to play Elden Ring I'll just play that, I guess if you can't afford the game its a good alternative.

Are incomparable, ER is a top tier AAA that draw new high for open world, the first expansion is a goty on his own

This game is a masterpiece.....yeah no. Its worse than all of those game you mentioned.
-Worst input lag of any game in the genre.
- Strange freezing issues at every save point
- worst class balance of any game in the genre.
- clunky controls
- traversal between regions is painful until you can fast travel at the end.
- most enemies are poorly designed or medicore
- most bosses are poor or mediocre.
-main character is the least interesting protagonist in the genre. The character on the cover of the game is far more interesting than Sorun.
- Soldier class is completely broken. blocking is and spamming invincible frame special is S++++ tier
- level design is meh okay.
- I will admit the antagonist of the game is the best in the genre.
- the story is better than most of the games in the genre as well.

IDK if you understand this or not but at a certain point if you glaze something way too blindly like you're doing its just gonna be a meme to most normal people lol. Beserk and Arch Linux are great examples of this.

I really enjoy Death's Gambit (ignore my hours on Steam; I played on non-Steam platforms before). While I appreciate the story and voice acting, they're less enjoyable on replay. I like the core combat a lot, and I thought the bosses and enemies were fun. I do agree with the criticism toward the soldier class above though, it really is leagues above all the others.

To answer you specifically, Tarnishing of Juxtia is the closest I've found to this game, though it falls short in many ways. It was worth $5 for me, but it did feel like work to get through toward the end.
