Can attributes give you bonus over 100?

Is say I have a Finesse of 70 and my equipment is giving me an bonus to Finesse of 31. Does it cap at 100 or am I getting 101 worth of bonus to damage and Health?

you get the full benefit. 100 isnt the cap. the hardcap for stats trough leveling up is 150 for str/vit/fin/int. but bonus from gear goes over even that hardcap and grants full benefit.

the gaian shield makes that cap a totally stupid measure tbh
how the fck im gonna equip that ♥♥♥♥ with a character that isn't a sentinel ? it need 200 strength and i already have a sentinel
other classes aren't gonna be able to equip that, even if it's a strength build
also is very stupid that the only real usable SS shield is dropped by the crow

its simple : the gaian shield IS the one and only reason that the sentinel passive doesnt become fully useless later on. it IS a sentinel only item. this is by design and wanted like that by the devs.

i agree about crows shield tough. that placement is questionable.

it's dev decision, an stupid decision for real

the sentinel is useless in all of his extension, the only thing that makes it "worth" is the joy of using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and expensive SS shield, and the strength requirement for that shield makes it more stupid

even a 150 strength requirement would be fine, but no, they had to put an impossible requirement only avoidable for a certain class
