Lost Ivory Key

the ivory key has vanished from my inventory and I can't progress! i picked it up from the bottom right hand corner of Journey's End , and it seems to have vanished. one probably stupid thing I did though was attempt to "drop" the key in front of the jailed dude that talks, thinking he might use it to free himself. i got a prompt saying "you cannot drop this item" however now the key is gone from my inventory and I cant loot it again. any ideas?

I notice in the patch notes for 1.1.2 & 1.1.3 that it says "If you somehow lose the ivory key, you can re-obtain it back in Journeys End" but I can't see where

Not sure how to get that specific key back, but have you tried checking with the little "acolyte of death" lumberkin in the traveler's path?

If he sells a skeleton key, then buy that, since that should let you unlock whatever the ivory key would, and let you progress.

thanks, I read that is an option but didn't want to spend ages farming 5k :( guess I'll just do that
