Deciding on Strength or Finesse for Noble
While I'm busy getting my Wizard butt handed to me by the Heroic Forgotten Gaian's army, I figured I'd start working on the one class I still haven't experimented with yet: the Noble.

I've noticed its Talents can be set toward either a Strength or a Finesse build, although it's Adjustment talents leave me with one question: Do those Adjustments have any effect on the required stats for weapon Abilities? I remember reading somewhere that they don't; I want to confirm this before I go putting Spears on strength or Longswords and Halberds on Finesse.

Did you ever find out whether the adjustment skills had any effect on required stats for skills?

Unfortunately, it does not. You still need the original stat req for any of the skills, so in the case of the Noble either way you go you ending up needing 20 in the stat you're not using to get the most out of using adjustment talents for your weapons.
Granted, I found out spears can be pretty danged devastating this way but that's a pretty good chunk of points going to a stat you'll largely be ignoring otherwise.

Yeah, that's extremely unfortunate. I was contemplating to pair these noble adjustment talents with my wizard and the theurgist aura so I could use halberds/longswords/spears and their abilities on my INT build. But I guess that's not going to happen then.

Thanks a lot for the update! :)

How exactly do Abilities scale by the way? is it just by weapon damage? Or is it by Attribute? If so does Adjustment somehow mess up that up? I've already figured out that by using Soldier the Bow Finesse requirements don't change so the only real point would be to slot in a Bow Ability and hope it scales with Strength/new weapon damage then.

The actual scaling does change, yes. So provided you meet the stat req for the skill in question, you would indeed have the bow skill's damage scale to your Strength (or to Int. if you have Theurgist Aura equipped).

Although that said, maybe Bows aren't the best example. To me they're strictly a side arm and nothing more.
