[SOLVED] How to heal "Infection"?

So, I just arrived in Journey's End and got myself "infected" when I walked through blood and saw it can't be healed through resting at statues.

Anything known to get rid of the status again?

Anything aside from that? Or any place I can buy it at? Since I killed the snail NPC later on for the skeleton key and didn't buy any Panacea since I didn't see something like this coming and poison was easy to avoid.

nope, nowhere elese to buy.
and i feel save to say: it doesn't drop either
you get 1 lying around and that's that. if you kill the snail you are out of luck.

I found a solution. If you die to a certain boss in that specific area, a Panacea will "always" drop since the boss can inflict that status ailment as well.

So no worries.

Well... what if the Snail catches the contagion? I'm not joking. The Snail in my game caught the contagion somehow, and is begging the infection to, and I quote, "flay his flesh".

Will he eventually die from it? because if so, I'm going to farm for shards so I can buy as many Panacea that I can before he kicks the bucket.

EDIT: Oh yeah, he's definitely dying. His health gets lower every time I enter his area.
