Looks like it is amound of defeats against bosses (in some scale), which decreases damage of the character.

If thats true, its the most dumb thing ever. More you die on a boss harder it becomes?

It seems to go down randomly sometimes though. But yea i has to do with the DPS you do, it cute mine in half, from 112 to 50..

actually the damage reduction thing seems to be just a bug, upon quiting and restarting the game itcame back to normal.

Found out what the hell was happening with the damage: I had a shield equipped that upped the stats on parry for a linited time.. problems was, when the effect wears off the stats go back under the original value, so you end up after a few parries with a level one char.. Don t equip the fancy light shield!

it could be possible that fear is like insight in bloodborne which that is slow changing your surroundings (like seeing your dead mom all over the place. NOTE: this only a guess)
