Report a translation problem
It seems like the saves could just be stored in some sort of cache. No clue whether this would work, but maybe running it as an administrator could help.
Assuming you're using Windows, saves should be stored in C:\\Users\(your name here)\AppData\Roaming\Aerannis
The AppData folder may be hidden, so you might have to fiddle with some setting to display it or open it through the command line. Within the Aerannis folder should be files named aerprefs20.txt, aervsync20.txt, checkstorage.txt and aersave20.txt.
If you press up at a save point, check that folder--at least one of those should be there. If they are, the only workaround I could think of is to copy those files to another folder when you're done playing. If they've disappeared by the next time you play, copy them back to that folder.
