Save file keeps disappearing

I've started this game 3 times. Each time I put a few hours in, and the save game will disappear after a period of time after going unused. Like, if I close the game, and open it back up, it'll continue. But if I turn off my computer and otherwise don't play for a while, I have to start over. I'd like to play through this at some point, but I'm not playing the 1st five missions more than 1 more time. Any advice? Where would a save file be that it's not finding?

Are any other games having this issue? Are you using Windows 10? (it seems to be causing loads of crazy problems for some reason)

It seems like the saves could just be stored in some sort of cache. No clue whether this would work, but maybe running it as an administrator could help.

Assuming you're using Windows, saves should be stored in C:\\Users\(your name here)\AppData\Roaming\Aerannis

The AppData folder may be hidden, so you might have to fiddle with some setting to display it or open it through the command line. Within the Aerannis folder should be files named aerprefs20.txt, aervsync20.txt, checkstorage.txt and aersave20.txt.

If you press up at a save point, check that folder--at least one of those should be there. If they are, the only workaround I could think of is to copy those files to another folder when you're done playing. If they've disappeared by the next time you play, copy them back to that folder.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm on Win 7 still, probably til the deadline for free upgrades ends. I'm currently moving so my rig is packed up, but I will investigate further when I reach LA in a couple weeks. Thanks again!
