STAR WARS™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga

Best way to run Multiplayer
Me and my friend just got this game but we can't figure out how to play together. What's the best way to connect?

it seems this game wasnt ready to be released to steam and many if not all people are having problems, your best chhance is to keep checking this forum in hopes that someone finds and shares a workaround

I've tried two methods, Hamachi and Evolve (third party clients) they have not worked. My opinion, unless someone or Steam patches it to be compatable with other 3rd party clients it most likely will not work. However we have got it to work via lan, but under the same house. Other than that i havent seen it work yet, hopefully someone figures it out or finds a "patch" for it.

There are a few third party applications that people who play mutliplayer online still use, the in-game multiplayer still works for LAN games (computers on the same network), but since the zone went down you can't get anywhere with the online option in the game.

The place where the few remaining competative people still play online is voobly.com
Voobly developers also provided for several fixes automatically, like no CD support, color fixes, widescreen support, among other things.
I used to play this with GameRanger, give a try.
Works like a charm.

We tried to get it to work with voobly but the program couldn't find the game and I figured it was because it's through steam? I don't know. Might just have to wait for a patch.

This shouldn't be an issue, all you have to do is manually point voobly to the proper .exe file. If voobly can't find it it should give you the option to search for it.

It does, but then you need to arrange a match with friends and make a virtual LAN. There is no hassle with Voobly, the community choice for Galactic Battle grounds online for years and years. It has an online lobby where people can chat, meet new people and challenge each other in matches, besides patching your game to be widescreen and removing bugs. None of the other services do that.

How do i use that "Voobly" ? I dont get how im able to host a game?
Maybe you can enlight me there - i wanna play with my friend too :I

It is a program that you launch, and is similar to MSN gaming zone if you played there. Basically games have lobbies with rooms in them, to host a game you just enter the lobby for your game and click on one of the open rooms and then you can launch the game once everyone is in the room.

Try hamachi, and try play local, if your friends cant find the game you created they must try looking for it with your IP, worked for us

Could you help me understand how to even use or get anything having to do with Voobly working? I downloaded the thing and it is like I am looking at a foreign nuclear launch network. I just want to know how to get everything running so I can play with friends RIP

Ok, got it. I am hosting games now. You do need to make a free account with voobly.com and maybe MSN.com to play multiplayer.
