and as an aside what do you recommend for antivirus/malware software? ive tried a bunch of stuff and theyve all been crap. mcafee seemed serviceable, tho after this incident, first time in 3 years ive had a problem, maybe its not good if it can get shutdown by a file from a 20 year old game.
In any case, you should get another antivirus. McAfee sucks ass. Even the guy who made it hates it.
In any case player.exe is just the video player which you don't need.
Oddly, AVG's decided to flag the Steam executable. I'll restore it later, but what's even odder is that it hasn't flagged the identical GOG executable.
