Also try installing the Expanding Fronts mod - it will not change the original way the game works, but has a couple of compatibility fixes thrown in.
No, this isn't Disney's fault - this is long before the age of Disney, when Star Wars was actually owned by Lucas Arts properly.
The reason you need fixes is because this game has not been touched by its developers since the release of the Clone Campaigns expansion, which was released in 2002 when everyone was running Windows XP.
Now things have changed and Microsoft has released an endless spree of updates which have broken everything under the sun, including my laptop which is hanging on updates 100% complete. One of the things included in "everything" is SWGB.
M$ isn't going to fix it. Disney barely knows this game exists. So things are left to third parties to pick up the slack.
