[HELP] issue with building tank
I find that most recommendations revolve around a blocking playstyle which I find strange. "Exquisite Scenery" the inner art for tank gives a 1st stage heavy attack which is absurd, I'll never have any trouble charging a 1st stage heavy, and I also cant care less about fighting spirit as bosses dont really allow that window to build a fighting spirit combo which is time bound.

a deflecting playstyle imo is the way to go especially against bosses, but my kit doesnt really support that which is fine its a tank its not supposed to output consistent damage but I should at least be able to withstand, which takes me to passives and gear sets, but they all seem to revolve around blocking as well (moonflare)

does anybody else have the same issue with tank, have insight on how to build or want to share tips on gear sets and inner passives?

Well tank in solo mean that you can keep buffs/debuffs, know which attacks need to deflect and which you can facetank with shield and punish with charged attack.
Yes, since it's parryslop, deflect always will be prefered option of avoidance.
You can use sword as mh and keep h seord as oh for shield if you need survivability.
exquisite perk is dog water.
the rock solid perk might be good for you if you're looking for 'tank-ness'
i build for charged heavy attacks on mo blade.

im sure i read or saw somewhere that the trapped beast perk can heal you for the shield after a few seconds but i cant find it anywhere!

I dont wanna force myself to defend some attacks (know which and which) just to utilize my passives, I'd rather deflect all (which is harder to do and hence should be more rewarding) and am just frustrated that I seemingly cant as you're recommending me different weapons
You can parry with any weapon. But whole point of tank build in this game is utilizing shield + dmg reduction buffs + attack reduction debuffs.
