How to force directx 12? Everytime I start the game this changes alone to DX11
I have a 5070ti and the game keeps going back to DX11. Any ideas in how to fix this or command lines to force DX12?

Yes if you run the game from the desktop shortcut it defaults to DX11, even if you tell steam to default to the DX12 version. You have to use the Steam UI to launch the game where it does respect what you pick as default.

It does seem if you run the game from EXE file it will go to DX12 by default (which means the fault is actually Steam not respecting the default setting from the desktop shortcut).

If you make a desktop shortcut directly to the EXE file in the game directory it will continue to launch in DX12.

I did that and the game still tries to change my Directx everytime I start the game. I get a message saying that I changed my DX and I have to cancel or confirm to change it to optimized values.

to clarify this,it starts in DX11 when launching from the shortcut on the desktop and I'm curios too on how to make it so it launches DX12 from the shortcut.

Huh? But when you click on the play button on steam you get the option of to launch in both DX11 and DX12

Yeah but I had the ticket on the option to remember my choice.

Now I have a shortcut directly to the wwm.exe like TheJingerbeard said. That worked for me.

Thanks this is working for me at least until they fix this problem.

It was annoying because when the game goes back to DX11 all my video config just goes back to default.

You can change it so that it doesn't ask for it.
When that's done it will always be in dx12.

Just cancel the message in the game if you see it, it will be in DX12, just go play with a character and go to graphics settings and you can see if you can use framegen.

Just don't accept the message, if you get it.
