Well the multiplayer still works, but you have to use Lan or VPN Lan servers like Hamatchi or Tunggle (Hamatchi works ALOT better but supports less people than tunngle in a server) since gamespy no longer exist of online multiplayer.

Also you can NOT play the steam version with any of the original or no patched/cracked CD versions of the game due to minor changes. Also you can not use the steam Loco.exe in a CD install as the graphics are completely ruined by the steam exe.
