CANNOT save scenarios or game - Any Ideas?

Loved this back in the day and was delighted to see it on here. Sadly, I have noticed that the game doesn't allow write access to the disk and therefore you cannot save anything like scenarios etc.

Wondered if this is just an issue for me or is it just a problem with the game here on Steam?

You've lost me there...

I think the game is broken on here as it is probably so old that write permissions have changed on modern O/S's was hoping someone may of known of some workaround etc...

I also cannot save my games!
Would love to know a trick to save them. Losing my progress, or not being able to break down long game sessions, is sad.

I'm running the game on GNU/Linux through Proton.

I've asked a friend of mine about this. He understands a lot about retro games.
He told that games, back then, did not use long paths for save files, so I should use shorter addresses.
This did the trick.
