This game is literally Open Transport Tycoon which is free and has a lot more features, is open source, and far bigger mod pool. It's a cash grab.

this was like my childhood 2005 ish but is it still popular, or is it dead?

I tried to download a mod that adds more aircraft to locomotion but its a 7+ year old mod and the download link does not work anymore from the site.
