Difficult to call it music... per se.

it's more audio cues for obstacles along the route.
with a background beat to keep the tempo.

you cannot change it, officially.

I understand what you want.
I remember a game from long ago, vib ribbon on playstation one.
It'd try to make a level to match your music... wasn't perfect.
I trust you've played audio surf?

I would hope I could encourage you to try this game even though it's not exactly what you're looking for.

I think you'll enjoy it despite that.

hey, worst case, if you REALLY don't like it within 2 hours of play, there's a refund option.

Thumper and some other rhythm games of the like are more about the experience it tries to give, they aren't meant to play around custom levels or anything, idk if you decided to give it a go, but you definitely should just to see and refund within 2 hours as Psymon suggested, also it's on sale for the next 27 hours

Hey there, I'm one of the members on the modding team for Thumper.

Unfortunately, due to how the game is built, It is currently unknown if it's possible to add audio to the game. Every file's name is a magic number.
A magic number is a 32-bit hash value produced by applying a hash function on a string. The game executable stores the hash values for string literals like game file paths, object types and parameter names. What it does is the game takes the existing hashed string and uses it. For example, 90db5c6c == pitch, 30291331 == level_9a.objlib. (If you search that hashed number in the cache folder, you'll find it) Due to this, we can't just drop a .wav file in and hope it works. Hopefully I can figure it out though. In the mean time, not possible unfortunately.

EDIT: I should also mention, the "music" is built in real time using multiple assets such as loops and one-off samples at once to produce the amazing music that is Thumper.
