Oh, yes. Physics and environmental interaction is in most cases not even as good as it was 20 years ago.
Shadow of War is said to have refined the nemesis system as well as the overall game-play of its predecessor Shadow of Mordor, plus one gets a fitting conclusion of Talion's story, which I do not wish to spoil as it is better you find out for yourself.
In fact, one can get both games for rather cheap at the moment. I suggest you go for it. You'll be in for a treat.
