no more updates
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor received its final update in 2019. Could you explain the reasons behind the decision to stop releasing updates for the game after that year? Was it due to a strategic shift in the developers' focus, such as prioritizing new projects or sequels like "Middle-earth: Shadow of War"? Were there any other factors, such as player base changes or financial considerations, that influenced this decision? Additionally, how was this decision communicated to the player community, and what was their reaction?"

I'm going to say that you are new to steam due to your empty profile icon.

Developers rarely or not at all respond to questions on steam. Maybe when the game is new (again rarely) but after that you will not hear from them about anything ever again. Not on official youtube channels, not twitter or any other place you can think of.
Also steams the last place you will come to on earth for developer questions.

Game was finished they did what they wanted. Not all games go on forever and devs wanna work on newer stuff. Games use to be you get what you bought and that was it no patches nothing so you better hoped they had all the bugs worked out.

According to a post I read (Reddit & X), the devs wanted to do one final bigger patch to iron out as many remaining bugs as possible and round up the game but were moved to another project by the publisher. Rumors say it could be a Wonderwoman game inheriting the nemesis system but I can't imagine how this could work.

It's really weird to call finishing a game and calling it done 'deception'

They're just done working on it. There isn't any deception. The fans don't care. We've really enjoyed what they gave us. It's been a fun ride and still is.

But also I think they mentioned a new upcoming update to remove micro transaction reminants?

That is what I said. We won't get this last update. They were moved to another project and can't deliver it anymore.
