I uninstalled it for just that reason.
Just a skin color issue?
Probably just another woke hater bait but at least choose a suitable target.
Slight Story Spoilers.
"Even If" he is a little Lore-Breaking, so is Idril.
Gondorians do not allow women in their armies, let alone give them positions of authourity; no matter 'who' their daddy is.
I don't like Baranor as a Character, anyway. Why?
Because there is a point where Talion convinces him to take his girl and leave because it's the best chance of protecting her; then on minute later she goes all "i'm going to stand up and fight" and he's like "OK, we can stay and die together, honey". He didn't or couldn't stand up to her and is a beta male being dragged around my his emotions.
Addidtionaly, Idril is thoughless, leaps into situations without assessing them, and constantly getting in deeper water than she can swim in- needing to be rescued, so her sentiment of 'staying' is hardly 'sound wisdom'.
He has a small part to play in the overall story arc, you get like 2 interactions with him, an escort mission, then he kinda fades off into the distance. It's a little bit 'token black guy' but maybe more 'Tolkien black guy' (LOOL). He's really not worth getting wound up over, the game is far bigger in scope than Baranor, and he plays little part in it - and if you miss the rest of one of the best made games ever put on screen because you don't like a black dude, then you've got some serious problems.
You can flesh his story out in the DLC if you'd like to; or just leave that alone and it has absolutly no bearing on the game what-so-ever. Both the DLC's are entirely missable (you have to select it as a playable mission by running ot the mission start point on the map).
remember; this game was made BEFORE "Woke" was vernacular.
PS Love the Blades of Galadrial DLC as well. Eletrial's Line up is worlds better then Talion's
Big Reason is I don't have to pretend to give a damn about Orcs. Hate the Buggers. I am here to kill them, not pat their little belly's and tell them they are special.
We can call it woke now,
because the normies are noticing and it's failing!
So pander-guy is firmly embedded,
has cooler skills and does everything the white-girl-boss tells him too.
Thnx, a penny saved is a penny spent on better stuff.
No, you missed the point.
he's NOT a major character; you get maybe 1h of missions in a 50h campaign, and most of that is MISSION with maybe a total of 5-10m of cutscenes and story involving him.
You'd be missing out on one of the greatest experiences in modern gaming by not getting this title; in fact, you need to play Shadow of Mordor first.
He's not missing anything with that attitude.
Better check your privilege.
I wonder how you react in real life, do you start crying and running away?
Of course not, you never leave your "gaming rig", except to ♥♥♥♥ and eat.
I said that I don't like Baramor. I like his personality, he's a nice guy - but I find his character to be weak-willed. He does not have strong leadership qualities for a war on the scale and brutality of the Siege of Mordor.
I said nothing about his race, gender, or species. I don't like some of his CHOICES or ACTIONS.
I also went into length about how he's not a significant character and that if you're concerned about them inserting that kind of behaviour; it's tokena and minimal. I didn't even get started on Idril and her 'strong independant woman' arc - which gets people in trouble, mostly.... which is kind of a cool anti-woke message that got sneaked in there under the haters' noses.
Anyway. This thread has devolved into unintelligent drivel below my stature.
I am unsubscribing. Say what you like, troll how you want; you're only trolling yourself, now.
Youre worried about this, but not the rest of the lore breaking stuff, considering this is non cannon lmao, but the racial thing is the one thing that bothers you to the point of commenting. I smell something sussy wussy.
Its a literal fan fiction game LOL. You likely shouldnt play if lore breaking stuff ruins youre experience, even though its likely just a racial thing for you.
Might be a token black guy, but smh I could see complaining about it and be fine with it, IF you actually complained about the other many lore breaking things, such as the main character its self lmao.
