Steam Sale "Definitive Edition" vs Shadow Bundle - which is better?
So I am wondering which version of SOW to buy. The logic of capitalism is usually that the more expensive thing is better, but comparing "What's in this package", it sure seems like the Definitive Edition has a lot more stuff in it. It also appears to have a lot more *savings* on that stuff, although my search of old messages in this forum would suggest that pricing in the bundles may be a bit borked since years ago.

Can anyone shed some clarity on this while there is still a week+ left of the summer sale?

Important note: I do not own any version of the game.

I do own Shadow of Mordor but barely got anywhere with it before giving up after having my ass handed to me repeatedly by Uruks, however I do plan to finish it before playing SOW. A friend told me Mordor is the better game, but it's hard to go wrong with these sale prices and I bet my friend didn't play any of the DLC on SOW.

It's 9 dollars total, and 1.50 more. Just buy the definitive edition.

...and The Shadow Bundle is $1.50 more than the Definitive Edition, so does it include anymore more? It appears to include LESS. That was the point of my question.

Sometimes it seems like people in Steam forums don't always read the whole post before replying. But thanks for the reply nonetheless, I am leaning towards the Def.Edition unless somebody can explain why the Bundle is priced higher.

Shadow bundle has same content from SoW as Definitive Edition.
Only added in that bundle is SoM. But as you said that you own SoM, Definitive Edition is what you want. Bundle will give nothing more to you.

Same could apply to this post. Read the store page, it's clear what you get.

Thank you JackSparrowSups and especially Kucus for taking the time to confirm I was understanding it right. In spite of what (the other person whose screen name seems hidden?) said, it actually is not entirely clear what you get by reading the store page, in that the Shadow of War Expansion Pass is not explained. As implied in Kucus comment, the Expansion Pass seems to have all the DLC of the Definitive but nothing more. But yes, I had not even noticed that Shadow of Mordor was included in the 'Shadow Bundle' so that accounts for the higher price. Reading error on my part but I'm sure I'm not the only one when the two games are named so similarly! So I bought the Definitive Edition, thanks folks.

Did you get all the DLC / does the more expensive bundle show as you owning it all now too? If so, it's weird that for the same result you would have ended up paying more!

Capitalism isn't exactly logical.

All the comments confused me, so right now which is better? Definitive or the shadow bundle? If definitive has more dlc, why the shadow costs more? Does it have better gameplay? thank you!

The Shadow one includes the first game and its DLCs. The Definitive one is just for Shadow of War and doesn't include the first game.

so i guess the shadow bundle is kinda better, thanks a lot :)

Yeah, the Shadow Bundle looks like you get less overall, but it's because the Shadow of War Definitive Bundle splits up the DLCs, whereas the Shadow Bundle has them all under 1 season pass.
