Legend Orc farming
I know there is a lot of talk and youtube vids on this but I just wanted to share my approach after trying almost every suggestion.

Die and Shame
I tried the 'Die, shame, Die shame" approach with common captains and normal grunts. Whilst this was sort of fun because it was different I have to say it was not very successful. Only 1 time did a captain become Legend and that, strangely, was the first time. However, I did noticed that captains with zero immunities gained 3 or 4 immuniies after they killed you although this only seemed to happen at higher levels. Some grunts became Epic but the saviour often killed them or they just humiliated me (refusing to kill me) when I tried to push them too far.

Pit fights
I've not kept count of pit fghts - must have done 200+ for maggots, warriors, champions and Overlord. Again, not keeping precise stats but something like 5% epics appeared and only recall 2 legends. Seemed like a long winded and boring approach to Legend farming so I gave up. The only use was to raise Mirian selling the loot and buying the silver warchests in the hope that you will get a random legend orc. It happens but not very often.

On-line Warlord fights
To put a common orc (at any level) through 5 successive victories is very random and frustrating. I noted that, on the 3rd fight, you had to upgrade your orc by 5 or 6 levels because the 3rd fight was almost always against an Epic or Legend higher than your orc. If you start with an Epic orc then the 1st 3 fights are meaningless because you won't get the Epic upgrade on fight 3 (because he's already Epic!) and, 75% of the time he'll face a Legend Orc on this fight and lose. The training orders are often hopeless too unless you're really lucky. I recon I made about 5 legends through getting 5 successive victories (1 in 50 ish). If you use this method it's best to use Ologs and I found beserkers and slayers had the most victories. You also need 3+ immunities (fire, curse and poison), enraged by everything, thick skinned, epic rage or great strength to stand any chance of success. If your epic orc already has these I'm not sure he's worth sacrificing in the pit just to make Legend status. I would just wait for a Legend training upgrade to appear and use that instead. Any orc on a caragor in the pit will almost certainly die because he doesn't get involved in the fight until his caragor is dead for some reason.

Spoils of war farming
This is by far the best option - I can normally get around 5-6 legends from the spoils of war chests in 2 hours. Sometimes you also get 2 legends in a chest and sometimes a legend training upgrade too.

The approach I've been using is the one on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaDcUmSJnKI where you run down your attack rating to zero, trigger a X2 spoils of war token and ONLY achieve the silver win. Starting from 0 attack rating each conquest takes around 7 mins plus a few cut scenes.

A couple of things that the clip doesn't mention that you should look out for.
- When running down the attack rating you don;t need to enter the fight - just run away in the opposite direction - takes 15 seconds

- make sure you only do this with 1 of your fortresses and max out the attack ratings on the others. Also, max out the defence rating on all fortresses. This will raise your overall rating meaning your spoils of war % rating will be higher (mine is at currently @70%) so, with the token activated it's 170%. This yields 405 points per silver win so 10 wins gets you 4 chests.

- If you still need to grind for XP this is a great way - trigger the 2X XP token too although most folks will probably be lvel 60 by now.

- as your attack rating increases, the fortresses get tougher so don't risk taking legends into battle. Use common orcs especially when you're around 400 attack rating if you get that far within 2 hours.

- one final thing to watch out for. A couple of times I've started to run down the attack rating I've lost my fortress - and all it's warchiefs!! I cant replicate this but now I always remove all my warchiefs and replace my overlord with a common orc before I start the process. Put them back when you;re ready to start winning.

Well, I hope this helps and, as most of you will know, there are a lot of random outcomes in this game so this may or may not work for you!

In 3 months when Monolith remove the marketplace, there will be more legendary orcs in your game, you'll be able to recruit orcs during online vendetta/conquest missions and spoils of war chests will contain a legendary training order.

Being able to dominate legendary orcs during the social conquests will probably be the easiest way to get legendary orcs in the future. And we will be able to make our favourite followers legendary? Sounds good to me. Can't wait for July 17th to come. =)
Everything is about to change in the farming department when they make all there official changes

Yup. Everyone will recruit the same orcs with the same traits and the game will become pretty boring.

Or the devs could fix the AI to make all orcs viable and make them actually fight each other rather than dance around. So frustrating watching my guy stand there when the other guy is dazed or knocked down and generally not attacking nonstop like he should, and WOULD if he were fighting me.

Very thorough, nicely done.

Re: the recruiting online thing, I'm witholding judgement until I see what it looks like, but yeah, sounds like it could lead to a lot of cookie-cutter orcs.

My best orcs stats-wise have almost invariably been normal orcs with traits I like that I turned legendary through legendary training orders. I most consistently get those training orders from spoils of war and community challenges.

It's nice to hear they're going to increase the spawn rate of legendaries, but truth be told if they're like the spawned legendaries now, it's kind of a waste. Most of the spawned legendaries in my game are fodder, worth more as mirian from "selling" their drops, which is used to get silver boxes in hopes of getting useful training orders. They either have crappy immunities or some fatal weakness like terrified by spiders or some such. I''m far more excited about the consistent ways to get legendary training orders post-update.

There should be new training orders or another way to remove vulnerabilities, maybe one per orc for balance purposes. Nothing worse than getting a guy with good enrages only to have him made useless by giving him Exhaustion. Or a beastmaster that is beast fodder. Or anyone scared of flies or spiders or other near-harmless things. Stupid.
