Running Nvidia driver version 387.92 (A quick Google search will net you the driver from Nvidia's site). Running this driver got me past the first battle with the Balrog, without the game crashing. I also ran at the lowest resolution, just to make sure I can get past. There is definitely a game breaking bug here.

Try to go to Documents/WBgames/Shadow of war/render file open in notepad/change "windowed" from 0.000000 to 2.000000
