Game crashes When fighting Balrog / Tor Goroth

So the game constantly crashes on the Carnans bane quest. It always crashes when you jump into the pit to fight the boss. I have tried everything from validating steam files to lowering the graphics settings but it has crashed about 6 times now always on the same bit.

Does anyone know if there is a fix as i can't find much online about it.

Also is this quest essential for completing the main game?

Yes this quest is needed. Not the next ones.

If you validated the files I dont think redownloading SOW would help. 6 times so not a passer by bug... annoying mission branch xd, its the one with most of bugs.

Tried to leave game and replay the quest, or the 6 were in a same session?

Hi thanks for the reply. This was in 6 different sessions as the game would hard crash. i have also tried it restarting my computer from fresh. It just seems to be that 1 quest as i have no problems with anything else in the game. That sucks if it's essential quest as i'm about nearly done with everything else.

I assume you dont want to do a back up save and restart the game from the beginnning to see if it will keep crashing there (easy to rush until there to check)?

Or keep trying like a brute and maybe it will works xd.

Xd no, buts seems the second one also has nasty bugs xd. Dont know , sry.

Tried in windowed screen? doubt its this kind of crash but...
Or in another pc xd. Even if yours is strong enough, some just have bugs.

I got Exactly the same issue, after returning to the game i tought might be cool restartin from scretch, ive finished the game before with a 100% savegame no issues back then.
But now the same Happens to me, its the first fight against the Balrog when u have to avoid the crushdowns, iver also tried multiple solutions.

i tried windowded screen, implementing another save(which doesnt work at all at least for me for some reason) lowering graphics to the teeth , higher it up and and and nothing worked so far it kinda ruined my mood for the game.

I was digging days of solution nothing so far, its kinda somehow a casual bug aswell, specially for Console ppls.
Idk but thats completly game breaking since u actually need this quest to progress. no idea why they dont fix it at least.

Having the same issue. Game is running well for the most part, no other problems but only with this one quest. Can't progress because of this. When I jump to start the fight with Tar Goroth there is a cutscene, everything goes fine. Then afer a shot to the Tar goroth's back and then few dodges of the falling rocks the games crashes. Screen stops, audio is still going on, can't do anything. It happens only during that mission and at the same particular moment, shot to the back, few dodges, then crash/freeze. I am currently reinstalling the game

Yeah this problem really annoyed me as i can't progress either. I've left it and started playing other games in the meantime. Let me know if reinstalling it fixes it for you as i might try it again when i get my new computer hardware in a couple of days.

I saw this and was worried I'd have the same issue, but I didn't have any problems at all, not even a stutter. Unsure what the issue is, maybe a graphical thing?

Nah I do not think so. Maybe my save has broken, but I dunno. Will not play this game until something comes up with this issue or will start it all over again after a break.

Im pretty Positiv it's an Script error or something , something is causing a incompability problem with something,Maybe AMD incomp , NVIDIA incomp who know's just push this and my Thread i made to the teeth maybe we're damn lucky and reaching the Devs nervs to fix this, i may be too positiv about it but hey.

I wonder if this is an issue with hardware, cuz a lot of people have this bug. I never got it though. I think this game has issues with loading things on Normal non ssd harddrives so that could be it. Kinda sucks there was never a fix though, since this is a good game :/
