Broken level cap?

Well, I leveled up and from 60 to 60 (not 60 to 61).
Another bug or its "lied" increased level cap to 80?
Edit: I've got skill points for leveling, but level no grow up

Seems this bug is happening for people at other levels aswell.
Just saw a guy on twitch get stuck at 79 with that max tag beside it, he couldn't figure it out.
Someone in his chat said he was stuck at 69 aswell, not sure if that guy was trolling tho.

To anyone still experiencing this problem - we're actively working on it but we need some help from our community. Specifically, we need to look at some save files with this problem so we can get some repros.

i have the same issue i am stuck at level 71 i sent them a request like Monollith_Mark said but they replied with a helpless reply. i posted the same issue in their forums here

Hmm. The second sentence is pretty specific "sorry you're stuck at level 71" so a person may have wrote that, but the rest is boilerplate. I've been told by CS that if you reply to their response (the email you received) asking to speak to a representative directly, a real, verified human will contact you. If you haven't tried that, please do. They may be able to help more because they have a database of reported fixes and I think there have been a few for this issue. (Also ones published on this thread but I assume you've tried those and they haven't worked?)

thanks for your reply i really appreciate it.. instead of waiting i managed to restore my save file back before 71, and was able to exceed it.. i have another problem which is i can't buy fortress upgrades, and wb support replied with this solution but it didnt work:

Please open your actual Steam program, which normally shows in your Task Tray next to the Windows Clock (you may need to expand its view), then go to STEAM > Settings > and look for the In-Game tab> look out the "Enable Steam Overlay While In-Game" feature, then uncheck the box there and try again.

I'm sorry, Uchilha, I don't. I looked on our boards to see if others had this issue and fixed it but couldn't find anything. I assume in the save file you reverted to, you still control the fortress and have enough Mirian to buy the upgrades? I'm only asking in case ownership changed hands on the old save. Otherwise - and this is just a guess but - sometimes changing connected game states can get things working again. (Like with your level cap earlier.) Maybe try changing Overlords, Warchiefs, etc. Advance time at a Haedir tower, etc. It seems odd, but sometimes jiggering things like that can help unblock something. Reboot the game, too, if you haven't yet. Let me know if anything works (or doesn't.) Hopefully it's just a momentary glitch.

I have the same problem, but its literally 2020, and i dont think that anyone its going to be able to help me, so i tried using some external programs to fix it by myself, sadly i did fix it, but only the xp, i am stuck at 68 with a 0xp max lvl, that doesnt allow me to get xp. I cant do anything else, my only option right now its to play the game all over again from the begining?

Ah man i did fix it somehow long time ago and i don't remember how xD! but what i do remember is i used cheat engine.... The reason why it got stuck was of trainers i think... i used cheat engine to change the xp or something

Well, I tested and CE or trainer broke this if You set too high xp gained, but last time I tried this was... well, year ago I guess.

Is it even legal to mod this game?

Since some could probably edit level caps to 300 and all items/enemies to scale with it :)
