Does the Story DLC add to the main game

As the title says, if you buy the Story DLC does it add stuff to the main game? Or are they a complete separate entity?

Since i'm not very interested in the other 2 characters only Talion but i also don't want to miss out on anything

desolation of mordor adds a new desert region to the main campaign, though the only quest there for talion is to take over the stronghold

i dont think blades of galadriel adds anything

desolation adds new map and baranor skin
blade adds 10 legendary unique orcs and eltariel skin

Side note: the unique legendary orcs from the blade DLC don't appear in the base game normaly. You would have to get them via the garrison into your base game. And they don't randomly generate like all other orc's.

So in short:
Blade of Galadriel doesn't add to the base game & Desolation of Mordor does.

there was a sale this summer for shadow of war. i bought gold edition for like $34

you get the chest of legendary orcs each time you complete blade dlc, open chst and deploy the orcs in anymap you want
(this will be possible with july 17th update)
