Fps Drop with 1080ti in Act II
Anyone else getting fps drops when they get to Nurnen in Act II?

I never saw anything lower than 60 fps before Nurnen, but now im getting annoying 5-10 fps drops/stutters while running around the map on a mount. Lowering settings does little to help; short of turning everything to low.:steamsad:

Gtx 1080ti
i7-2600k@4.3ghz
250 ssd
16gb DDR3 Ram

I get the same score in benchmarking as other 1080ti's so no it does not. Also im playing with x2.25 dsr so theres that.

Only game ive come across problems with was Batman Arkham Knight. But that was one of the worst ports in history.

Also when fps is 100+ on most games and i have a 60hz monitor the "frame loss" isnt really seen.

your 2600k is getting on in years, likely bottleneck. Heck even my 4770k is seeing signs of old age. New AAA games like BF1, Andromeda, and other CPU intensive games will need more CPU power

Yes ur right. Im planning on getting a i7-8700k as soon they are in stock. I was planning on getting a i7-7700k but just decided to w8 for 8th gen. The 1080 ti was just a future proofing thing, as having 780s in sli taught me i never want to deal with sli ever again lol

Then ill look into a 1440p monitor, as i dont want to invest in 4k until i can get 4k+gsync+144hz lol

Well your cpu isn't that bad but it's not a i7-4790k or better, and what kind of monitor are you running? Well guessing 1080 or 1440 won't matter too much since your cpu is probably your issue. (nvm 1080 monitor) kinda weird with a 1080 ti personally.

I know 1080p with 1080 ti is laughable, but ive noticed that running new AAA games at 1440p sometimes get you lower than 60fps. Now understand that im not talking about average, Im just talking small quick frame drops. Im very sensitive to even the smallest drop so i only switch res once i know without a doubt that i can hit solid 60.

I almost decided on getting a 1080p gsync monitor with a weaker gpu but chose to w8 and just get a 1080 ti so i could later par it with a 1440p screen.

Acer I believe will be the first ones with a true 4k 120 hz monitor next year for close to $2000. personally 144hz with g sync you're asking for a large amount with no difference to me. I think 120 hz is fine since I want to do 4k as well down the road.

Tbh i dont see many new AAA games running at 144fps at 4k. Unless i get another gtx 1080 ti (and maybe not even then.) Ill only invest in 4k once i know i can get near 120fps with a single gpu. Im guessing not even volta will get near that tho lol

1080 ti is doing well on games at 4k but not the 100+ fps more around 50-90 on most heavy games. The 1180 ti might not do it either, but probably the next TI after might be able to do 100+fps constant.

It depends, every year engines on games improve and it's always more demanding.

I think you are still bottlenecking some i get some fps drops but ive only got a 1080 once i overclocked i get almost locked 60 lowest ive seen is 55-56 on high settings 4k

Hmm, the performance seems low. I'm not sure how much this will help you, but I average 120-140fps at 2560x1080. I've never seen it drop below 100fps and I keep the counter on at all times.

All ultra/high settings enabled
G-Sync enabled
FXAA
Motion Blur OFF
Ultra textures enabled
Large memory profile enabled

i7-7700k @4.7Ghz
32Gb DDR4 @2600Mhz
1080ti with 110% OC profile
Installed on a 1Tb 860 EVO

How much memory are you using? I'm wondering if you're not seeing a bottleneck from the game having to load from a page file on the SSD.
