Elven Precision
What is the REAL timing for elven precision?

The description states that your chances of critical strikes are significantly increased upon timing your attack as soon as the sword connects. One thing is for certain, that in order to properly time the attack, the attack input must ALWAYS be done right before the attack connects, so the game can first make the decision before registering the attack as a critical or non-critical hit. Since if you do it even a millisecond after, it's not like the game is going to momentarily backtrack and register it as a critical hit.

I'm skeptical of this skill's mechanic, because in a lot of rpg games, sometimes the descriptions of skills are a bit misleading/vague, or have more explanation needed regarding the skill. How can one be 100% certain the timing of this skill, as it only increases the chances of a critical strike instead of a guarantee critical hit. A guarantee critical hit would be easy to pin-point the actual timing, but obviously that would be very OP.

There's a small slow motion effect that sometimes occurs when you hit the attack button, but this is not a guarantee critical hit. However, I'm not 100% sure if this is related to the Critical Strike skill. When the slow motion effect occurs, the timing is different. The slow motion effect lasts for a really long time. When is the precise moment to time the attack then?

If I don't get factual answers, it's no big deal, but hopefully there's someone very knowledagble out there who can shed light on this. Thanks!

I thought that when I'm pressing the attack button that it's for the next attack, not the current one. So for the very first attack it's a regular attack, then if we time it properly while the enemy is being hit we have increased chances for the second strike to be a critical hit. I'd be curious if I'm wrong about it because I'd be timing the button presses wrong this entire time then.

Maybe @Monolith_Mark would know the answer to this.

I do! Press the button only once per attack, don't worry too much about the timing'. It's just a bad description and even worse feedback on whether you did it right.

Thanks so much for this thread! I just press attack when I connect and it seems to work, just like the old Shadow or Mordor :)

Nice, I suspected that much, likewise Batman series and SuM ... that skill description, slow motion and the chain not always working give me some doubts. In the end is just the same, but works unlike Batman, were that always u hit 'X' after an atack u win criticals!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
