Morgai Fly Nest = Curse?
Sometimes, to exploit a weakness, you have to improvise, like poison a grog barrel to get that olog who's terrified of baelfire, or detonate a campfire to spawn ghuls or spiders to either exploit the specific fear of those creatures or have some good poison assistance.

this new damage type, Curse, seems to show the same effect as fly nests; hit a grunt with either and they flee.

But with captains and up, can fly nests substitute for curse and vice versa? Like, if a captain was terrified of curse, would a fly nest seal the deal and if they had a fear of morgai fly nests, would hitting them with curse daze them? I would believe so, seeing as how every other damage type has more than one infliction option thanks to beasts or otherwise, but I'm skeptical since the death prompts say "doomed" when a captain is killed by curse and "swarmed" when killed by a fly nest.

It doesn't seem to, unfortunately. IMO that's fine, since Morgai Flies are already extremely powerful against Grunts and don't hurt the player at all, but it's weird that the cosmetic effects are the same.
Morgai flies are their own weakness (IE they can be afraid of them specifically) but won't proc curse.

Also curse has been in the game from day 1, baelfire is the new one.

I think the devs had a black smoke effect planned but it got scrapped before release to avoid the game getting delayed. Kind of like the other forts.
