Talon Strike Not Working

Talon strike absolutely refuses to work. I have tried changing the key binding and repeatedly deactivating and reactivating the skill, but nothing works. Haven't found anything helpful. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I thought the same thing for a long while. It is very picky about where you can strike. Try big open areas to land, on top of large roofs, or on top of a wodden lookout. Also, it can not be super far away so continue to play with distance to get it to work. Once you find the areas it works it will work better for you. I think they intended it to work in the areas closer to you. Good luck!

You need to not sneak right before you jump. If you sneak as you jump you cannot use the skill.

For future people who have problems using shadow strike: it only works if you DON'T draw back the bow. I had this exact problem and I was mashing the prompt button and it wasn't working because I had an arrow drawn.
