Fight pits worth it?

I've looked around and from my own experience even if I look at a orcs weakness and select an orc that is a higher level they lose had an olag that was a higher level and went up against orc that was weakened by fire he had a fire weapon yet he lost it seems to be an issue with the a.i and animations my oolag just stood around getting hit. To me, this feature of the game doesn't seem worth it but I'm only about halfway through the game. So will this become a thing I need to help later on in the endgame or can I just ignore the fight pits at this point?

curious as to other players thoughts and maybe some help cause this idea seems awesome on paper but from what I've seen it falls flat on its face.

Do all the required fight pits, after that they are not worth doing. The benefit-to-risk ration of pit fights and endless defense is not good. The best feature for recruiting good orcs with no risk is Online Vendetta. Once you arrive in the other world, don't do the challange at first, but roam around the area finding orcs to recruit. There will be about 5-6 hanging around the other player's fortress.

Every once in a while a really good orc / olog comes along in the pitfights which you can recruit after sending in one of your weakest captains. But I agree with 5009craig. Since the new option of recruiting during online sieges and vendettas the pitfights have become a bit obsolete. Maybe Monolith could try to do something about that. Make them more valuable in some way.

Yup. Online Vendetta. Go into Wraith mode and scan the area. You'll often see other orcs. Some are going to be Legendary. Although they are not your target, this won't stop you from dominating them. After you're done with the vendetta, you'll find them available in your Garrison.

I've picked up several good Epics and Legendaries this way. Easy money.

The best orcs are actually in online siege once you get to the 1000-1200 level fortresses. Go in alone, and slowly dominate the orcs you want until you take the fortress. It may take 20-30 minutes, but there are some amazing orcs out there, some with 3-4 epic traits, 6-7 immunities, and incredible strength.
