Vengeance set not upgrading

so as the title says i've been trying to upgrade my vengeance set all day and i've made sure multiple times i'm doing it right, as far as i know. been doing vendettas and killing the captains as it tells me to do with whatever weapon they need killed by but yet it has not recognized that i have indeed killed a lvl 20-25 captain with an execution at least three of them now in fact yet my sword still says 0/1 wandering if i'm bugged or something

Do you have upgrade quest active?, if you got any other quest active, then it wont work, tbh all quest upgrades should update real time without it being active imo.

maybe that was why? i'm not sure tbh it just kinda started working as normal and i got all the upgrades lol
