It would have been a good thing to have the option of removing a mount yes.
Another thing that's a bit weird is the dire caragor. To me it seems hardly any stronger or more aggressive compared to regular caragors.
I was able to remove a Caragor trait once from a Captain by summoning him, hitting him repeatedly until he aggroed, killing the Caragor, and then re-dominating the Captain. I tried this again with another Captain and it didn't work the second time so my guess is that it's a percentage based chance for the trait to get removed or something buggy/unique happened with my first attempt.
I don't know if that's just something that happens to Uruks as they level up or it's just one of the many random traits that can get added, but once it happens on a melee Captain, that guy suddenly becomes trash-tier.
Yeah its a random chance. once they hit epic they also pick up either beast slayer, call reinforcements, beast master.
Beast master can be useful if a Warlord is Mortal Beast Fodder; but other than that.... mounted Caragor Riders are a free kill for Talion + Shadow. Useless in fightpits. It's mostly just a cool gimmick that adds a bit of variety to the Orc pool; but the caragor's aren't nearly aggressive enough when mounted to be useful.
