'A Stench on the Wind' Bug

I've been experiencing a glitch when fighting Zog the Eternal during the Stench on the Wind quest. For some reason I can't get him to initiate his dialogue when approaching the totem, and even after purifying it and clearing out the other enemies he doesn't retreat and seems to have infinite health.

I've scoured both these and the WB forums and tried every possible solution; I've cleared every outpost, gone into offline mode, kept him near the totem, avoided stealth, etc. with no success.

This seems to be an issue going back to launch, so I was curious if anyone else out there had discovered a definitive solution. I find it really irritating that I'm locked out of the Dragon Song skill because of this. Thanks for any insight anyone may have on this. WB support has been completely useless so far.

yes, you might have to uninstall and reinstall, that fixed it for me. You could try verify cache and give a go

I am having this same issue. I have tried everything, restart, reinstall, check game files, going offline after reinstall and playing, do other missions, clear all missions in the area, go to a different zone leveled up and came back taking him from level 49 to 50. I have even done the fight over 10 times trying different things such as no stealth. I noticed he would randomly acknowledge that i am there doing his speech of "you gravewalker im going to bla bla bla" and then shows his healthbar and other times he wouldn't and just fight me never showing his healthbar or level.

Same here. I've done this fight at LEAST 10 times, and spent hours on it. Sometimes he talks, sometimes he doesn't. Some times his health bar shows, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes his zombies keep spawning, even after cleansing the totem, sometimes they don't. The only consistency is that he just never flees. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've verified the cache, the integrity of the game files, etc. I've tried disconnecting from the internet, nothing. Everything that has been suggested I have tried and I am now stuck not being able to advance this quest line. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have sent in a ticket to WB devs through the wb support site. I suggest you do the same in the hopes they will make it a priority to fix.

I had the same issue and the way It resolved is by doing "The best defense" quest first, then the quest to take back the fort that follows it after. both on the same map.

I'm having this same issue. Guess i'll try completing all other quests then returning to this one

Don't know if it's any help anymore but I was just playing that quest and i got the same glitch. I opened chrome and spent 10 to 20 minutes (lost a bit track of time) searching for a fix, I reopened the game because I was going to cancel the quest and do others before doing it again (as i read here) but surprisingly after kicking Zog's ass a couple times just for fun before ending the quest, he started speaking and just went away disappearing the same way he did when he awakened Tar Goroth.

(And btw, when i started he didn't speak and he also didn't have a health bar during the whole fight)

ya, i have tried allmost everything. even gone back to the game several times over the last 2 years since i got this bug. still. not fixed. and dont feel like starting over. so i just gave up and uninstalled.

Strange, it's called "Fart In A Windstorm" in my game..

so recently reloaded the game and tried the quest again. still bugged and they have not fixed it. so i was forced to delete my save and start over... losing all the extra loot boxes i had for free and cant get again... dam. i allso sent this as a bug report several years ago to the devs and never got a word back. more or less they abandoned the game. so buyers beware.

If I recall correctly from an eternity ago. I believe I had to do some other quest prior to this one to not get the bug. Maybe my memory is wrong though

ya, i had checked the forums and there was alot of possible fixes like that. none worked. i think what caused it was after taking controle of the castle in that area, the 2 towers that are like totems of power or something like that you normaly destroy in castles were respawned. but in my allied keep instead. so i destroyed them cause thats what you normaly do. im thinking that might of bugged it cause some one els had gotten the bug after doing that. sorry for bad spelling just tired lol.
