I really loved shadow of mordor, and from what i've seen in videos and stuff, shadow of war iterates upon every single aspect of shadow of mordor, and improves and innovates. It's not a cloned game, Monolith put a lot of work into really making this the definitive presentation of the nemesis system, with more personality in the quest orcs that you may only see once, than ever, and more quirky and interesting companion interactions which should make the captains you train stand out as your allies in war.
It becomes a catch 22 not of 'is it worth it' but 'will GOTY have even more content'... In my opinion, I'm not going to pass up such a great deal exactly when i have money on a game i've been wanting after they removed the thing i said i kinda didn't want in the game. For me, they brought this out the perfect time. I'm probably going to buy. Gold edition; because it's got more content. Like 'fourty dollars' worth more content, for only 10 more dollars. i know THEY are the one who set the prices, but let's be honest here. They're going to jack it up to 100 dollars again and we'll never see a gold edition sale this low again probably.
If you enjoyed the first Shadow of Mordor and MGSV, then I think the asking price of $35 for the complete edition of SOW is a fair.
