What is this new DLC all about? Just 2 hours of content??
I know you play as baranor with his new mortal abilities, but the description says something about a "Rogue-like" campaign. what is THAT all about?
Also, how long is this DLC? I read its about 2 hours only. Is that it??

Looking in YT, Baranor looks great and fun, but does it mean i can only play him during this super brief campaign and then that's it?

WB still havent figured out a way to insert Galadriel and Baranor into shadow wars or a way to play them across all Areas of the map of the game?

I was certain it would happen by now.

I happened to sumble across the live stream by WB which mostly explains that the DLC story works a bit like a rogue like in a sense that if you need to take over the region but if you die as baranor than you restart the taking over of the map from scratch but your unlocks (abilities) remain (like a NG+ that occures when you die).
So you are expected to die and restart number of times.

When player dies, he loses some cash, all weapon upgrades collected from dead enemies, all mercs and outposts. You need outposts to attack fortress and win dlc.

Okey dokes! So I've only been playing an hour now but from my experience,

What stays:

- All your upgrades and currency stay over
- All the main quests stay completed

What goes:

- All your augments (which is basically randomized items you put on your gear for bonuses)
- All your hired mercenaries
- All the orc captains randomize again (from what I've experienced)
- Your score for the run resets

By the looks of it, the whole DLC is best played on harder difficulties because the fun comes from getting that one good run where all the random augment drops work in your favor and you get all the outposts so you can have a kickass fortress assault.

For replay value, I'm not sure if the fortress resets after you finish it and, lets say, die from a random captain but the scoring system can keep people playing for a while after as it looks like there's milestones you can reach with a high score which may give you better augments to start with.

Just know though that everything I wrote after saying "By the looks of it" is pure speculation as I'm not far enough into the DLC yet to confirm it. But overall, I'm loving it much more than Galadriel so far. Definitely way more effort put into it and an overall much fresher experience, Baranor is badass!

thanks for the info, blistie!!
keep the info coming, please :)

i love the idea of this DLC but is the new region big and fun enough so you'd want to replay it over and over again?
Is the region bigger than the other 5 that are in the base game?

Is there a way to play with Baranor and his abilities (not just the skin on talion's abilities) in any of the other maps besides this new one?

you can conquer the lithland with talion in the main game but as far as i know you only can play as baranor in the campaing of the dlc which is limited to lithland but maybe my knowledge is wrong. :)
