Desolation of Mordor is an amazing addition. No questions.
Having completed it, watched every cutscene, overheard multiple humourous conversations between Orcs and Easterlings, with many a fine battle fought and won, it's done.

I can't wait to go for my next run and see what upgrades I get this time round for my equipment. There's some really cool abilities and the upgrade system feels really nice. Having jumped back into main game.. I really miss my grappling hook/shield/crossbow/gun.

I loved the landscape, the new travel-aid, it just all feels good.

10/10. This was a treat to play.
My final score was 232,000.

Bonus; Most memorable conversation I heard was talking about Baranor's grappling antics, went along the lines of, "The man zips up and down like he's some sort of spider" :P

feel like I'm playing a Batman game with Baranor...too many similarities, but also a really short DLC :steamsad:

It is. Kinda looked like the latest installment of Assassin's Creed. In addition the new fighting style is amazing and I do love the grappling hook and parachute. Makes me wish the skin isn't just a skin but the playable character. Once you got the grappling hook there's no going back.

I don't feel like it's overly short at all. For me about 2 hours but I got some pretty amazing equipment that buffed me hard. I can imagine on a not-so-good run, the playtime could go up to at least 4, maybe 5 hours. Mind you I also died a couple times with about an hour in total gametime lost from that.

I agree, can't go back from that grappling hook. That thing is one major reason I'll have a lot of fun playing more and more :D

I played on Nemesis and I finished it within three hours with no deaths and my score was only 7k. Where did I go wrong? I got all the outposts and all warchiefs were dead before I started the seige by the way.

Is Idril in this dlc?
I played for about one hour, pretty cool indeed,
the landscape, the new weapons and tool, very fun

no shes absent for some reason
I'm guessing there will be a DLC related to the Locations of Interest (Those Icons with Info tabs over them in the Map), as, not only are the iconic Movie-Locations also included, but also Durthang, Carach Angren, Thaurband, Ered Glamhoth (Which for Shadow of Mordor Players know these were areas you can go to in the Game's playable Regions.)

It would be kinda odd to see those areas specifically, which have almost no relevance to Shadow of War except for minor background details, and only mattered in Shadow of Mordor, unless they do intend to hold some significance for Shadow of War.

This is just my idea on the possibility the Locations of Interest becoming interactable in some way, considering Monolith also mentioned they might be planning more stuff ahead.

Perhaps experience points. In my single run, (also Nemesis difficulty), I took all the outposts, killed all the captains and warchiefs before assaulting the fortress and racked up around 111,000 XP doing so (each XP counts to your final score too), enough to purchase all but 3 upgrades (never bothered with the Mercenary Discount upgrades)

Just try and do everything you can, kill every orc you can, as fast as you can. You should get a decently high score :)

So we're clear, I'm not sure if my 232,007 is a big score. I'm not sure how many others got that high, but Steam achievements report 0% of users having the Baranor the Conqueror achievement (Get a Gold rating on a DoM run). So it does seem like something not a lot of people have done. Just take the info I gave and use it, that's all I did after all :D

The best way to get a large score is to play on Gravewalker (the hardest difficulty) My final score was 511,511. I'm thinking the faster you beat it the higher multiplier you'll get. Also when first starting the DLC make sure to pause the game and check your difficulty in the options menu, the DLC has a weird habit of reverting to Normal or Brutal without telling you. A lot of people have been complaining that the DLC was too easy... but that's probably because they were playing on Normal/Brutal without realizing it. Go into the DLC, set the difficulty you want in the options menu and then let yourself get killed to force the DLC to restart with your preferred difficulty.

While short in the playtime, I actually had more fun in Desolation of Mordor than I did the main base game.

Maybe it is because I like spamming the shield charge, or it is a change in Middle-Earth fighting mechanics.

I would give it a 9/10.

I think the roguelike system was the dumbest idea that they could have... but well, I have to live with that.
Waiwai May 9, 2018 @ 12:23pm
The story is too short for me, and it once again told me mortal has little chance to stand against orcs, Bright Lord and Dark Lord on their own.

Still, I once again feel how Tailon and Eltariel are IMBA in the game that killing hundreds of orc minions with dozens of AoE like cutting bugs, instant-kill orc captains in a thousand ways, able to deal with several army on their own, when Baranor is stuck to use Execution and crossbow and get into to troubles immediately when he tries to face just a dozen of orcs without body guards.
