"Failed to initialize game database"? Please help

I used to have the game (and Steam) installed on an external harddrive and the game worked fine.

I've recently uninstalled everything from steam (including the client itself) from the external harddrive and installed it internally. Steam and all of my other games run fine, but when I try to launch Shadow of War I get the following error:

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor 3.20 GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB

I solved it! Verify the integrity of game files. I did it twice, first time Steam did not find anything wrong and it did not solve it, but out of despair I tried again and it found the error and downloaded the file.

Right click the game in Steam > Propertries>Local files>Verify integrity of game files
