How to avoid one-shots?
Fighting a guy now, I'll have full health, and he'll one shot me into a chance to save my life. He's one of the banner guys, so he constantly has tons of enraged orcs near him, melee and ranged. If I even try to glaive, there's a chance he's gonna hit me, and once is enough to kill me right off. I can't even get my combo high, because literally a dozen things are all attacking at once. I just end up dancing around the room avoiding everything. Any tips?

take out the banners with arrows while in Focus. That will weaken the grunts by a lot so you can focus on the captain. As for the captain himself, just keep hitting him as much as you can. Be careful though, your hits will not cancel his enraged attacks (if he's enraged). You just have to try and cancel his movements as much as possible. Even if that means trying to vault over him while he has an immunity to it.

Thanks, that was helpful.
I find the end game actually really annoying. I was having tons of fun until I got to the point where things can one-shot. I was just fighting in a siege defense, and a random ranged captain one-shots me with a no chance. How is that fun? lol

That's why I always equip a life gem on my armor. The extra damage you get isn't worth it in my opinion, unless your skills and equipment revolve around dodging everything.

I was fighting a commander and went afk because nobody knew where I was. Turns out, a grunt randomly decided to climb a huge tower that I was on and killed me. Then when I do the vendetta mission he one shots me. How do you go from Grunt to one shotting the main character that fast.

Enraged commanders are no joke.
Remove the banners, and kill banner carriers before they put one down.
Commanders with additional effects like curse can drop you very quickly when enraged.

#1) remove banners
#2) remove enraged captain (if you can daze them, this will also end a rage)
#3) use shadow shot pull to grab the captain away from his troops and take him down one on one.

That guy is someone I would try to stealth kill and failing that arrow kill or chain freeze stuns or even get a Graug or Drake involved. Whatever it took.

There is always one of those every playthrough. Someone that beats you time and time again. But in the end. I always manage to get them. Keep Hope alive.
