The problem is that it won't 100% change to a strength or an immunity, and it might just become a mortal weakness.
He can kill these and develop one of these traits depending on how fast and well he fought and ONLY if there is no beast related trait already established. If it is already established.. then his beast trait can change for better or worse, it's purely a gamble. If your follower fought poorly against the beast, he will most likely develop a mortal trait.
If your follower fought well and fast, he will likely gain one of the three top listed traits if he has no beast related trait established.
Beast proof
hates ( whatever beast he kills )
Beast Slayer
Mortally vulnerable
Heavily vulnerable
Dazed by ( whatever beast he fought)
Can be damaged by beast.
I will follow your suggestions, very much appreciated. Have you uncovered anything else for traits not beast related?
If he has a poison already, then using it on him will move it to lesser weakness or become immune or rage about it.
Want to take away an immunitie , curse or daze them ( takes away immunities for a short while ,) and use on him what was immune . He will develop a weakness.
And yes the uruk or Olong has to do most of the fighting.. if you interfere and did it all.. the uruk will generate a random trait than one that could be obtained. You can help by pinning or daze the enemy or environment stuff to blow up.
Want an uruk to train against arrows? Make him fight nothing but those till the trait increase or decrease upon leveling up the uruks.
Send against tracker uruks if you want your follower to be mad at pinning.. traps pin you.
Send against a ghul lover to be enraged or possibly flee from the sight of ghuls.
Send against a necromancer or summon him when fighting undead for him to gain rage at the sight of undead or terrified at the sight of undead.
Sending him against any enemy and the enemy flees, your uruks will gain enraged of cowards ( hate to see captains dazed and/or flees ).
Some of these may happen right after the battle, or after a few levels of going through it.
Stick your follower around other uruks who are enraged during a battle and can possibly gain bloodlust trait ( becomes enraged when other uruks are enraged ).
Some examples.. makes the game longer with tedious uruk training.
I would like to ask a few more questions.
1) Is there a way to get my orcs to participate in more nemesis missions?
2) What is the success rate of removing a weakness or adding an immunity? Is it guaranteed to happen eventually? Are some orcs never going to change? Is there a way to predict which orcs can actually improve?
3) Having reached the end game, most of the orcs I encounter are high level at least 70 - can these orcs still improve too, or only low level?
4) which pit fight is the best to look for the perfect follower, ie maggot, warrior, or champion, and which region
5) what sort of orc should I try to recruit from a pit fight, ie has good prospects to level up and become very strong (for the most part, since pit fight orcs are much lower level than the orcs in my regions, I have to repeatedly shame captains to very low levels so they sre guaranteed to lose - is there any better way?)
Thank you very much for your help and anyone else wanting to chime in!
#2. Not every trial you send your uruk or Olong to will benefit from it. They can come out victorious but change an immunitie to a weakness. It's like you get a 60% chance to benefit, 40% to get a negative.
#3. It is hard to train higher levels, they gain the traits through the leveling system. If they are 70 and your 80.. you got very very very limited options to train him.. and then hope its beneficial.
#4. Any place is a good place.. depending on what level you want an uruk or Olong to be. If your level 80... Want to try to train uruks or Olong from a low level, I suggest looking in Nurnen fight pits, max level in there is I think 25. Different regions have different levels. So it depends how much training your wanting to do and what levels to start from.
#5. I personally go for uruks in the pits with less weakness as possible. And has frost proof, immune to execution, and arrow proof. That's just my personal choice.
Hope this helps.
I tried sending him against marksman to see if he would get arrowproof. He only developed 2 immunities beast and curse.
I see some people with such strong orcs 6 or 7 immunity. I must be doing it wrong, havent had much luck. Shaming to zero and leveling up again seems to just ruin the orcs.
Now my guy is level 80 w 2 immunity. Is there a chance to gain anymore with more nemesis missions, or has he hit his limit? I haven’t been lucky w other fight pit orcs either. Thank you so much for suggestions!
Haveing the uruk as a Nemesis first can come in handy while training... It's like your molding him though not under your control.
I guess I should have mentioned that some traits are harder to get due to the fact how powerful one can be... And if it's easily obtained then you have that spam... It'll spread to where everyone you fight online will render arrows useless, and after all. His arrows make up about 80% of his combat capability.
It's easier to to find an uruk with it already.. as opposed to trying to train for it and gamble a negative.
I've taken away an immune to execution from an uruk after I dazed and performed the move on him and killed him...he came back with vengeance but not immune... And I wasn't trying to kill him.. I actually wanted him lol... But I didn't want him no more after it was taken.
I've moved a heavily damaged by stealth trait to only hurt by stealth ( which is a step up ) after only stealthing him till he died.
Try doing arrows and dagger throws to the uruk and try to get him to learn ( quick learner ) so he adapts more quickly to arrows and daggers , it's not an arrow proof but if he learns quick he can be.
It sounds like the strategy for improving an orc relies on cheat death mechanic, Is there a way to make this approach a bit more consistent?
I have been letting the orcs I want to cheat death kill Talion. Usually 2 or 3x. Then , when I kill the orc with a sword attack, I get the QTE kill scene. Talion tends to chop the orcs head off every time I want that orc to cheat death, I can avoid the QTE by using other methods to kill such as ranged or purification etc. Will the orc still cheat death?
I am way past the special orcs who cheat death such as flame of war. Also, I do not like to reload a save file. There have been power outages that wiped my save file and I had to reload it from online backup. PC may be different but it seems to cause problems on ps4, namely online rank is reset to 0.
I have tried to chop the arms off at least five different manhunters recently. They all lost their heads and one was cleaved.
Thank you so much again for helping. Kudos.
Orcs can still come back from decapitations as far as I know, and cleaving an orc will spawn a special orc, the Machine. It all depends on luck, but I think after each cheat death, your chances of landing another one decrease.
So your finally interested in creating one of a kind uruks and Ologs. I love talking about this.
So the cheat death system and how it works:
Whatever uruk or olog you have most dealings with will create a Nemesis .
How to create a nemesis? Letting the enemy kill you twice.. humiliated you twice.. betrayed you is the best way
Other ways is he fled from you, you fled from them, on more than a couple of occasions.
Enemy ambushes you.. which means the game is forcing this to be a nemesis for you.
To create unique one of a kind followers I suggest going to you tube and search " shadow of war unique and legendary scars guide ".
Your only allowed 5 forced cheat death returns.. these you control but with certain actions... After you successfully forced 5 to cheat death, any other cheat deaths will be by chance and is not guaranteed.
Not every enemy can become a machine or flame of war... There's been research that you have to find an enemy with the same or roughly the same voice for that character.. how to know is YouTube the unique uruks, learn to study the voice.. find an uruk with good stats to carry over to unique uruks.. confront the uruk and hopes it has that voice... If not... Try another... This part is the tedious part... But fun and keeps you on the game.
Legendary scars : The Beast, The Stitch, The Machine , The Unashamed, Flame of War... It's legendary because they come back as legendary if cheated death with these titles.
Special Scars : Stormbringer, The Spectre / Wraith Touched, The Claw, Iron Skull, The Unkillable , The Survivor, Broken Shield, Plague-Bringer ( with or without Hood ), Slash face / The Immortal, The Nameless / The Forsaken, .. list goes on...lol
To create a forced cheat death:
Let them kill you twice... At least twice... Third confrontation you finish him. Now fast travel back to a point, do not advance time as this often messes it up, do not kill any other captains, this often messes it up..just chill at a safe spot between 15-25 minutes, then leap off the safe spot, run for a minute or two and you'll get ambushed by the one who cheated death...
Hope this helps.
My question was how to kill the orc I want to cheat death without decapitating him. Every time I want him to come back I accidentally cut off the head during the death scene where the last words are given. Thanks.
Ah ok, why the decapitation after a Nemesis execution? And no other executions resulting in lost limbs or blades in the heads?
It brings me back to what I mentioned in above about the cheat death system. 5 are guaranteed to return back.. anything after 5 will be purely on chance...
If your execution scenes result in a head coming off.. then his chance of coming back is none.
If your execution scenes result in lost limbs.. or stabbed...then his chance is good.
How to control executions and get a chance ?
You can't. Your execution scene and how it's performed is out of your control.
The game will never generate the same uruk twice in one playthrough.. but few can cheat death the same way but look different and sound different..
For example: killing your first nemesis by fire will bring out flame of war...killing your second nemesis by fire will bring out the inflamed ( non legendary ).... Killing another nemesis by fire brings back nothing... He's gone...no more uruks can cheat death by fire.
Killing first Nemesis with poison brings out plague bringer or the blight... Doing it again to another nemesis will bring out either plague bringer or the blight ( non - legendary ) .. Whichever comes first.... Killing a third brings back nothing.. no more uruks can cheat death by poison.
Since your so late in game... Your cheat deaths may be expired. Whatever uruk you want to make, you'll have to start game over and permanently kill captains who you don't want to accidentally bring back.
Starting the game over? After all this progression?
... Well depends on how bad you really really really really really want any specific uruks...
Throw all special uruks you have in all regions into Garrison.. you can bring them into a new game..you won't loose them or any training orders or item chests... Whatever you do have deployed though when creating are no longer with you.
Or just do vendetta missions to try to find another players uruk or online sieges to find them.
