I've run the game in the past on Ultimate with the higher resolution pack no problem, I see something about combase.dll, but I have it through the windows store via the Game Pass, I get past the phoenix logo and get to where it shows all the companies logos, most the time it crashes right there, sometimes it'll make it one page farther and say updating and then it disappears.

I've checked the integrity via CMD, tried running as admin, reinstalled 3 different times, updated my graphics drivers and did the latest windows update, I even downloaded a combase.dll but no idea where to put it, plus the game folder that contains the exe is locked down pretty tight, I can see it but that's about all it'll let me do.

I've also tried the whole turning the render config file to 2 and 1, it always crashes around the same spot, anyone got any ideas?

Scratch that folks, thanks for taking the time to read it, I renamed the combase file in System32 and put the same version combase I downloaded from a website in it's place, it works perfectly fine now.

I'm experiencing the same problem at the moment, and I really hope you can still send me an URL about more information about that combase.dll file. Trying to find the one you installed, but no luck so far.

I went ahead and sent you an add so I can link you in a private message boss, there was a help article I read over first and then a separate site I went to for the combase.dll

Actually, I can link it here I believe after looking over the rules, so you'll want to find the combase.dll number in your event viewer, then go to..

https://www.dll-files.com/combase.dll.html This place here, find the same number and download it, it'll go into your System 32 folder, just make sure you rename the old one cause either sometimes you can't get rid of it, or it's always nice to have a backup.

I have the same problem and I've done exactly what you said...still the same crash.
After that phoenix logo, the game crashes after 2 seconds. Any other idea?

Not sure bro, I don't even play it anymore.... :( Hopefully someone sees this and can answer your problem though, good luck!

Most likely a communication problem between Xbox, Microsoft services, etc.
Make sure you have:
1) let windows apps access account information
2) let windows apps access messaging
3) let windows apps access notifications
4) let windows apps run in the background
5) CDPUserSvc service is running
6) OneSyncSvc service is running
7) UnistoreSvc service is running
8) UserDataSvc service is running
9) MesagingService service is running
10) WpnUserService service is running
11) Windows Update service is running
12) PimIndexMaintenanceSvc service is running

For ease of verification, you can use this utility https://wpd.app/

After turning on the services, reboot. If this doesn’t help, then relog in to the Xbox (Beta) and check the rules or disable Firewall.
