Screen flickering ***RESOLVED***
I just started playing the game again after a bit of a break. When the game first came out, I don't recall this happening at all. However, when playing in full screen, I am getting flickering. It isn't constant, but perhaps about every 5-10 seconds. I read through some other older threads and I have seen the flickering issue being resolves by going to borderless mode. I tried that, and it certain has reduced the amount, but it is still happening, and it is highly annoying. I'd say it now happening about every 15-20 seconds. It is just a quick flicker. Some of the things I have tried. Turning off DSR and Dynamic Resolution. Turning on V-Sync, making sure that no other programs were running in the background. I also turned on Game Mode in Windows 10 as well.

Has anyone else seen this issue. I'm not sure if the other threads were the same issue as mine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to a short YouTube video from my game.

I tried booting up The Witcher 3, and no flickering, so it is definitely something with Shadow of War.

To add on to this, if I go into straight out windowed mode, the game doesn't flicker at all.

I've seen this too, and have been working with WBGames Support to try and figure out what exactly is going on. Open a support case at http://support.wbgames.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=24028&

I did notice that the issue would go away with me turning off the IPV6 adapter in the Windows Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel, but that shouldn't be a fix.

As much as it sucks to have to go to that step, when I completely uninstalled the game and let Steam redownload it from scratch, that seems to have fixed the problem for me.

Thank you for your replies. I’ll certainly try those things to see if it helps.

I have been reading these issues and want to add.. This happened to me today, I have been playing without issues for about a week, and with no changes by me.. it started flickering black every second or two. I disconnected all USB peripherals. It appears to be acting like a button push glitch, so I disconnected the keyboard and mouse, still there. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: "Trying to make any mouse click changes in Options reverts back to the previous settings with the glitch" I had to rapidly change the settings in a space between glitching to get it to windowed mode, where.. as discussed, the glitch doesn't happen.

This is an old topic, but I can confirm that turning on the framerate limit in-game will eliminate or attenuate dramatically the flickering, but will instead introduce slight stutterings. So it's a trade-off. I find the microstutterinf far more tolerable than the flickering. Just for the note, I use dynamic resolution on, so that could be also a cause of stuttering, but not enough to bother me.

Thanks for the reply. This was resolved months go with the final DLC update. I should have come back to advise it was resolved. Thanks again though. I had forgotten all about this topic.
