does upgrading a follower to legendary do anything?
like, say i have an orc thats normal, i make him an overlord, then have him do the online fight pits until hes a legendary.
does that do anything?

I've done many Vendetta Missions and noticed the main difference is it takes approx. twice the number of strikes to kill a legendary as to kill a similar standard. Epic is between the two. Legendaries also seem to have more skills such as bombs, agility, gang, etc.

Legendary means an ork has two bonus properties more than a normal ork.
This ork is definetely better after he has been upgraded to a legendary ork, but it doesn't mean that he will be better than all other normal or epic orks. Every ork has an individual set of properties and settings. The settings are not shown, you only can "see" it in the pit fights. There are orks with identical properties but complete different behaviour in a fight. The one is a killer, the other a loser. I saw normal orks which seem to have the thick skin or great strength property, but they didn't have these properties. And others with these properties looked as if they wouldn't have it. The orks seem to have an individual not shown set of base settings like strength, skin thickness, agressivity, reaction time, prefered attack variant etc.
