Bug in The Best Defence - missing enemy

So, doing 'The Best Defence', and every guide I've found says the third wave is three captains, for a total of six - except I'm only seeing FIVE enemy captains total. The last one doesn't show up, or disappears, and I'm stuck in an endless brawl with infinite uruk spawns...

Anyone know if I'm doing something wrong? Is he hiding somewhere? Should I leave empty spots in the army screen before starting the mission?
(Note I'm also only seeing 5 of the icons keeping track of who you've defeated - like I'm missing a captain spawn)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I dont know how to help, but i have the same problem in arena mission where i kill three enemys but the capitain dont appear and i enter in the same situation like you enter. the enemies turn infinity and the boss not appear.
If you can help me too, your help would be aprecciated.

I have the same problem as Grumpy here. In the last wave where should be three warchiefs I have only two of them, so that makes five warchiefs in total instead of six. Actually it's getting worse. I played the mission for fifth time now I think and it didn't even load the last wave after I killed three warchiefs from the first two waves. I have no idea how to fix it. Tried relaunching the mission and restarting the game, but it made no difference. If anyone knows how to fix it, please share your knowledge! :D

Maybe you guys should try verifying the integrity of the files?

And if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the game.

I know these possible solutions suck, but I've learned that the bugs in this game are usually fixed by reinstalling.

Thanks for posting. That wouldn't be necessary. I traveled to another regions. Stayed a while in Minas Morgul slaying few uruks. When I traveled back to Nurnen and launched The Best Defense mission, it loaded all six warchiefs. So the mission is done and I can finally move on in the story. If anyone's still dealing with this problem, try fast travel into another region. If that doesn't help the only option is as ai q sonim says...reinstalling the game.

Really late post to this thread considering how long the games been out, but I thought I would hop on here after running into the same problem.
What was happening for me was that one orc listed as an objective on the top left side of the hud (had their level outlined in green ) was not spawning, despite all of the other orcs spawning (yellow outlines). I had progressed pretty far into the game at this point and had my fortress fully upgraded. What worked for me was actually just dying during the mission lol. After dying, the orc spawned the way he was supposed to. Might be worth a shot before doing a total uninstall.
