Impossible to dominate

Hmm, just had a machine berserker that I could not dominate. I'd get him down to broken, and as soon as I'd hit the dominate button, he'd get instantly enraged by that move making him immune to dominating. Crazy hard to beat as I shamed him into a maniac.

Never seen that before that one would get enraged by hitting the dominate button and become enraged before the animation could even start - even though he wasn't enraged prior. Just impossible to ever dominate I guess... He chopped my prized tuhorn the tower special orc bodyguard in half so now he's an undead, I wanted to keep him normal, really wanted to dominate him for that. grrrr. Tuhorn chopped him in half after about 5 attempts at trying different tricks to get a dominate sequence to start before the enrage stuff, nothin worked.

There are two traits that will prevent you from dominating an orc, one is Unbreakable and the other is Iron Will. Iron will simply prevents you from recruiting them if you dominate them. Unbreakable, which sounds like what you encountered, prevents the "broken" green status from triggering. These orcs can never be dominated.

Being enraged overlaps broken, and will prevent domination similar to Unbreakable. Best bet is pin them and hide for a bit. Eventually enrage will wear off, unless whatever is causing the enraged status is still nearby, i.e. a rival. Perpetually enraged orcs, like Unbreakable ones, can never be dominated.

I haven't come across domination as a rage catalyst.

There is no orc who gets enraged by a domination attempt. Something else was causing him to rage, possibly being wounded or weaknesses. Both of those cause enrage in some Orcs. In those cases, just wait for the enrage to wear off and then you can dominate him.

I thought that was an anomaly, that's why I was posting in case if might have been related to the maniac state and all the berserker enrages (he had 7, including enraged by everything which is what kept triggering). Must've been a bug with either that character or that gameplay session. I've never seen that before either.

In fact, he wouldn't kill me, one of the orcs that just humiliates, but even one of the humiliation animations was interrupted, after he beat me down, by becoming enraged, he even got enraged by his own humiliation of me, in the middle of it, and it popped it out of the humiliation scene and got a free 2nd chance at him. Funny now but frustrating at the time.

I tried, repeatedly, that was the weird part. Even shadow pulled him into an open graug cage at one point just to isolate him, he'd be all green and broken, just standing there, and soon as I hit dominate - boom, enraged by everything would trigger and instantly enraged - then one hit me...

If he's not immune to arrows, try shooting one on the foot. :)
